Auto Accidents - Whiplash, Neck Pain, Back Pain, Headaches, Tingling and Numbness Down Arms and Legs, Disc Herniations, Dizziness...
If you have been involved in a car accident, whiplash injuries need to be taken very seriously. Because symptoms of a whiplash injury can take weeks or months to manifest, it is easy to be fooled into thinking that you are not as injured as you really are.
Back Pain - Upper and Lower - Sprains, Strains, Disc Herniations, Sciatica, Arthritis, Leg Radiating Pain, Pain from Pregnancy, Rib injuries, ...
Eighty percent of people suffer from back pain at some point in their lives. Back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor's office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory infections. In fact, it is estimated that low back pain affects more than half of the adult population each year and more than 10% of all people experience frequent bouts of low back pain.
Neck Pain - Sprains, Strains, Disc Herniations, Numbness and Tingling into the arms and hands
Most people do not realize how much they move their neck during the day until they are unable to do so. The degree of flexibility of the neck, coupled with the fact that it has the least amount of muscular stabilization and it has to support and move your 14 - 16 pound head, means that the neck is very susceptible to injury. You can picture your neck and head much like a bowling ball being held on top of a stick by small, thin, elastic bands. It doesn't take much force to disrupt that delicate balance.
Carpal Tunnel - Pain, tingling, or numbness into the hands or fingers
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) has become one of the most widespread occupational health problems we face today. It affects millions of people a year, and with our growing reliance on computers there seems to be no end in sight.
Disc Herniation - Click on "Slipped Disc" below for the link to a complete explanation - Pain from a disc pinching a nerve as it exits the spine. Most commonly from the neck or lower back with pain often radiating down the arms or legs.
Fibromyalgia - Pain and achiness in multiple areas of the body
The word fibromyalgia comes from the Latin term for fibrous tissue (fibro) and the Greek ones for muscle (myo) and pain (algia). Fibromyalgia syndrome is chronic disorder which includes widespread muscle pain, fatigue, and multiple tender points that affects 3-6 million people in the United States. Headaches & Migraines - Migraines, Cluster, Tension, Suboccipital Neuralgia, Stress...
Headaches affect just about everyone at some point and they can present themselves in many different ways.
Pediatric Problems - Neck and back pain, 'cracking' neck, headaches, whiplash, auto accidents
Pinched Nerve - Tingling, numbness, or pain down the arms or legs, neck or back pain, pain radiating around the ribs...
The term "pinched nerve" is somewhat of a catch-all phrase that is commonly used to describe the pain associated with a variety of conditions from subluxations, to tunnel syndromes to the referred pain from trigger points.
Plantar Fasciitis - Pain in the feet and heels, heel spurs. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common explanations of heel pain. It is caused by inflammation to the thick band that connects the toes to the heel bone, called the plantar fascia, which runs across the bottom of your foot.
Pregnancy - During pregnancy, a woman's center of gravity shifts forward to the front of her pelvis. This additional weight in front, causes stress to the joints of the pelvis and low back.
Sciatica - Pain, tingling or numbness into the leg. The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body. It runs from your pelvis, through your hip area and buttocks and down each leg.
Scoliosis - Scoliosis is a sideways curve of the spine that causes stiffness and pain.
Slipped Disc - You may have heard the term "slipped disc" used to describe a neck or low back injury. Discs do not actually "slip". Rather, they may herniate or bulge out from between the bones. This causes them to pinch or compress the nerves and may cause pain in the neck or spine. Often the pain radiates down the arms or legs.
Shoulder Pain and Frozen Shoulder - Shoulder pain can have a number of different causes, ranging from an injury like a car accident, to a chronic problem like arthritis.
Tennis Elbow - Tennis elbow is actually a misnomer in that it occurs in roughly only five percent of people who play tennis.
Whiplash - The term "whiplash" was first used in 1928 to define an injury mechanism of sudden hyperextension followed by an immediate hyperflexion of the neck that results in damage to the muscles, ligaments and tendons - especially those that support the head.
